How budgets work, how routing works, what happens at the cap, and how BYOK lands on Team.
What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
Three-stage UX, designed to never punish: at 80% you see a subtle banner; when frontier models are exhausted, Prodeology auto-switches to balanced or budget tiers for the rest of the cycle (one-click top-up if you want frontier back); when all budgets are exhausted, the input shows a clean “you've used all your AI this cycle” state with three options: top up, upgrade, or wait. No bill shock. No mid-stream cuts.
How does smart routing work?
Every request is automatically routed to the right model for the job. “Reformat this brief” goes to a fast cheap model; “summarize the conversation” goes to a mid-tier model; “analyze tradeoffs across these three strategies” goes to a frontier model (Opus or equivalent). You don't see model names, you don't reason about tokens. Smart routing is what makes a flat subscription economically sustainable while keeping quality high.
What is Cost-Saving Mode?
A toggle in the UI — like Battery Saver on your phone. When on, Prodeology biases toward cheaper models even on harder tasks. Useful for stretching your monthly budget or doing exploratory work. Default off on Pro and Team. Free users always run in budget mode.
How do top-ups and auto top-up work?
Top-ups buy more inference for the current cycle and expire at renewal. Pro tops up $5–$500 per transaction (up to $2,000/month). Team tops up $5–$1,000 (up to $10,000/month). Auto top-up is opt-in and refills below 15% automatically — with a monthly cap you set, a 3-5 charges/24h limit, email confirmation on every charge, and one-click disable. Auto-paused on payment failure.
What is BYOK and who can use it?
Bring Your Own Keys. If you already have a contract with Anthropic, OpenAI, or another provider, toggle BYOK in workspace settings — your inference runs through your provider account and doesn't count against Prodeology's budgets. Available on Team and Enterprise only. We keep the Pro funnel simple (one decision, one path).
Why does Team have a 3-seat minimum?
Team unlocks shared workspace, shared skills/memory, and admin controls — features that only matter past a single user. The 3-seat minimum ($147/mo floor) keeps the per-seat price honest at $49 instead of forcing it higher. Teams above 3 seats just pay per additional seat.
Is annual billing cheaper?
Yes — 20% off the monthly rate, paid up front. Pro: $276/yr ($23/mo effective). Team: $468/seat/yr ($39/seat/mo effective). Matches the 2026 market norm (Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, Claude all offer 20%) and roughly doubles cohort retention.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Annual contracts can be cancelled at renewal. There is no separate cancellation fee.
