How BYOK works, when managed inference makes sense, and what happens at the cap.

What's the difference between BYOK and managed inference?
BYOK = you provide your own provider API keys (Anthropic, OpenAI, etc.) and Prodeology routes calls through them. You pay your provider directly; we charge zero markup. Managed inference = Prodeology runs the inference for you on our infrastructure; you pay a per-seat add-on. BYOK is the default; managed inference is an opt-in safety net.
Can I use both BYOK and managed inference at the same time?
Yes — in fact that's the recommended setup. BYOK keys handle most calls; managed inference catches rate limits, revoked keys, or provider outages so your work doesn't stall.
Can I switch between BYOK and managed inference mid-cycle?
Yes. Toggle managed inference on or off from the in-app billing settings. Stripe prorates the change.
What happens when I run out of managed inference budget?
Your team can buy top-up packs ($5–$1,000) or enable auto-top-up. If neither is configured, calls fail with an over-cap message until next cycle.
Is managed inference available on Free?
No — Free is BYOK-only. Add your own provider key to start running.
What providers does BYOK support?
Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. See Connected Models documentation for the full list and setup instructions.
Why does Team have a 3-seat minimum?
Team unlocks shared workspaces, shared library, and admin controls — features that only matter past a single user. The 3-seat minimum ($147/mo floor at BYOK) keeps the per-seat price honest at $49 instead of forcing it higher. Teams above 3 seats just pay per additional seat.
Is annual billing cheaper?
Yes — pay 10 months up front, get 12. Roughly 17% off the monthly rate. Both your platform fee and any managed inference add-on are billed annually together.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Upgrades are prorated; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. Annual contracts can be cancelled at renewal. There is no separate cancellation fee.
